Our Team

Following in the footsteps of his grandfather and father, Derek Maxwell is a third generation Paul Davis owner. He began his career with Paul Davis in 2011 as a Project Manager, and later became an Associate. Utilizing the vital knowledge, he gained while working through the tiers of Paul Davis, he and Kevin made the decision to purchase the Sarasota office in early 2019. Derek is a State Certified General Contractor for Florida, as well as IICRC-certified in Water Damage Restoration, Advanced Structure Drying, Fire & Smoke Restoration, Lead and Trauma Cleanup.

Derek lives in Palmetto with his wife, Kathleen (Kat), and their German Shorthaired Pointer, Groot. This native Floridian enjoys boating and hunting and is an avid Tampa Bay Lightning fan.

Kevin has been in the Paul Davis family since 2006 in multiple roles – Project Manager, Associate, Water Technician, Emergency Responder, and most recently, Vice President. He and Derek purchased the Sarasota office in June 2019, and his traits of professionalism, empathy and ambition have served him well in the transition. Since starting in the industry in 1999, Kevin has supervised everything from large commercial projects to small rehab jobs on homes. He dreamed of driving trucks when he was a child…a passion he has since passed along to his grandson. He lives in Sarasota with his wife and father, and has two children and one grandchild who he loves to boat and travel with. Kevin is IICRC-certified in Water Damage Restoration, Fire & Smoke Restoration, and Applied Structural Drying. He is also a State Certified  Building Contractor for Florida, a General Contractor for California, and certified in Mold, Subrogation and Lead.

Trent is our Mitigation Manager, and has been with Paul Davis since 2015. He has held several roles, including Water Mitigation Tech, Mold Remediation Tech, EMS Services and Contents Manager. He is IICRC-certified in Water Mitigation and Applied Microbial Growth. His honesty, dedication and hard work ethic allow him to help our customers in their time of need.

A long way from his childhood dream of playing professional baseball, Trent came to us from his career in law enforcement. He and his girlfriend have a blended family with three kids, and he loves spending his free time boating, playing and watching sports, and working out. He loves a good steak, and watching baseball, hockey and football.

Courtney joined the Paul Davis team in 2017, but worked in the Restoration industry as early as 1995 in California. She moved to Sarasota in 2005 to be closer to family, and considers everyone in the office as her extended family.

Courtney lives with her husband, Kevin, and father-in-law, and she spends as much time as she can with her grandson, Oliver. She loves gardening, golfing, reading, and getting out on the boat with friends and family. Courtney is known for her infectious smile, her unwavering dedication to customers, family and friends, and her caring nature. We love seeing Courtney light up the office!

Tracey is the first face you will see when you enter the office, and is usually the voice on the other end of the phone when you call in. She has been a part of our family since May 2019, and we are so grateful she joined us! Her background in human resources is apparent – she loves interacting with people, and she’s really good at it! She loves the family atmosphere at Paul Davis Sarasota, and even cites the great people she works with as one of her favorite things about coming to work every day.

When she isn’t working, she enjoys listening to live music with family and friends, and going to the beach. She and her husband, Barry, moved to Florida in 2014 to enjoy the weather, and often can be found outside enjoying their island oasis pool. Her two sons and four grandchildren round out her family.,.as well as her two dogs, Amber and Gizmo (or MoMo, who you might recognize as our office dog…he’s a celebrity on our social media pages!).

She is dependable, caring and friendly, and we are so glad to have her as the face of our front office!

Alex and his brother Tony started working with Paul Davis in 1995 in Washington State as subcontractors and when he moved to Florida in 2006, he started working with our office as a subcontractor. In 2018 he officially joined the team as an employee, and has been an asset ever since. Alex comes to us with over 25 years of experience in the construction trade, but he also holds other talents – he was a general contractor for 6 years, building new homes and remodeling and repairing existing homes; he is certified as a computer technician on IBM computers; he is also certified in small appliance repairs.

He has fulfilled his childhood dream of fixing things and traveling the world…he loves to spend time exploring new places or relaxing on the beach with his wife and children.

He always strives to do work at his best…which is why his nickname is Sparky – he says he got that nickname because he would fix things before people would even ask for them to be fixed!

Dustin has been with Paul Davis since early 2019, and his life as a former insurance adjuster prepared him well, as he came armed with vast knowledge of the industry and 14 years of experience. He loves the family environment that Paul Davis provides, and his passion is helping customers in need.

He spends his downtime with his girlfriend, Gabby, and their 2 dogs and a precocious bird. He is an accomplished artist and enjoys sports, including cheering on his beloved San Francisco 49ers.

Dustin is hard-working, prompt and dedicated, and we are proud to call him a family member!

Patrick has been a part of our office since early 2019. He understands our business from all angles, as he has worked as both Project Manager and Associate in restoration, has over 20 years experience in residential construction, and holds his Florida 6-20 Insurance Adjusters License. Patrick looks forward to coming to work each day to help homeowners and business owners turn loss into a positive experience.

Patrick enjoys spending time with his wife, Jen, their 3 children – Emily (8), Charlie (5), and Nora Lee “Honey Bee” (2) – and their shepherd, Elsa. A New Jersey native who dreamed of being a commercial airline pilot, Patrick came to Florida to escape the winters, but he stays true to his NJ roots by listening to Bon Jovi and enjoying Italian food.

Tara joined Paul Davis in 2021 as our Marketing and Business Development Specialist. Her primary focus is expanding the relationships between Paul Davis and Sarasota, DeSoto and Charlotte counties. She is working to educate business owners and members of the communities on how Paul Davis can assist them during their most crucial times of need.

As a second-generation Sarasota native, Tara finds passion in building relationships in her hometown and surrounding areas. She played softball at Riverview High School and currently attends State College of Florida. She enjoys playing kickball in the local league and recreational softball in the Sarasota and Venice areas. During her free time, you can find Tara on the water, jet skiing or traveling to new places with her fiancé, Mark.

Victor has been on our team since 2017, but he has been in the Restoration industry working with both commercial and residential properties since 2013. Victor is the first to arrive on-scene at fire losses, and which he loves because helping people in need during a crisis is his passion. His penchant for being caring, friendly and helpful help him in these incredibly stressful situations.

Victor and his wife, Holly, have three amazing children – Gabriel Matthew (17), Maximus “Max” Nathaniel (5), and Violetta Rose (2) – and Victor’s four-legged hairy friend for life, Eli (8). When he is not responding to emergency jobs, he likes working out at the gym, and going to the beach or fishing with his family.
